Arc Floor Lamp Information

One of the most uncommon lamps I've ever seen is an arc floor lamp. This is something that only specific people will be interested in and like. It is just a lamp that is arced in shape and provides an arced light source. Traditional floor lamps will stand up straight and provide light outward, but the arc gives a better advantage. For example, you can have the arc go over some furniture and you can get more direct light. It could arc over the sofa and shine directly down on the coffee table. And I think this is where people like it.

The big issue for some people is that this is quite a bold thing to do. It's not something that you see in many homes and I know many people just like to keep it simple. If you're someone that is looking to be bold and different then this is something that you should definitely consider. Not only will you have a very unique style for your room, but you'll have much better lighting that you won't get from a traditional light.

Modern Arc Floor Lamp

The vast majority of these lamps that you're going to find will be modern. It's something that just seems to fit much better in a new home with a more modern look. I also know that minimalists like this too. These are the people that try to keep things extremely simple. They want rooms that have the bare minimum of items and furniture in it. With a simple arcing lamp, you can get just as much light as you would get with several regular lamps. It just makes a lot of sense for this type of design.

The cool thing is that you can get some very interesting looking lamps though. Since LED technology is growing and getting more integrated into our lights, they have some up with interesting things. I put a picture to the right of an arced lamp that actually has the lights arced as it bends. This is completely a modern look and some might even say futuristic. As you can see this is quite a bold move and it takes the right type of person to try something like that.

Obviously, something made like that is quite new and expensive, but it's something that works quite well with the minimalist and modern crowd. If you're someone like that, then you should definitely look into something like this.

Contemporary Arc Floor Lamp

For those of you that are more traditional or live in an older home, a contemporary floor lamp would work much better for you. This type of lamp would be much less bold and have a simplistic look to it. Typically you won't find LEDs or anything like that. It just arcs and has the actual lamp on the end of it. I've included a picture to the right to give you a rough idea what a contemporary one would look like.

Just to give you a rough idea about what you could do with that particular arc lamp. That is to scale and you can assume that it is pretty tall. It nearly arcs forward just about as much as it holds the item up. That means it will be able to get right over a sofa or some sort of chair. You can place it in the corner of a room and it will light up the middle of it, which is really the point of such a lamp.

This should give you a pretty good start on what you should expect when you're looking at an arc floor lamp. There is quite a variety on the market, so make sure that you shop around. You're bound to find something that will work for you.
